On the tail of yesterday's post, I thought a question and answer vlog would be fun way to get to know me. So any questions you guys would be interested in me answering, just leave a comment on this post. I haven't made a vlog since last year, and I'm really excited to answer any questions you all might have for me!

Getting To Know You

I've mentioned this to a few people, but I've really been struggling with my presence on my blog. What I mean by that is I don't feel like I really give enough of myself so that people reading my blog can connect with me--I'm very at arms length. Now I've been blogging [aka I had a Livejournal] for many moons, and looking back, I've always been like this. I just post a lot of pictures and not a lot about me-- so much that a regular reader could certainly pick me out from a crowded street, but couldn't tell you much about me besides my name. While this blog will never be a "Dear Diary" sort of blog, I still want to at least come of as relatable ...to someone...anyone?  

I think my main hangups when writing on a more personal level is:

A. By the time I get to the computer I've already talked myself out of whatever I was going to write about. I don't know about anyone else, but I think of a lot of ideas in the shower, or right before bed. I'll have it all written out in my head, but when I sit down to type it out, I just stop. Either because I tell myself it wouldn't be interesting to anyone else, or because....

B. I'm too afraid to write that much copy. My writing is sometimes just a hot mess. I'm the kind of person who thinks a lot faster than I write [and speak, but that's a whole other insecurity], which results in me constructing a lot of discombobulated sentences because of me starting and restarting sentences several times. [then toss in the fact that I read fast, so catching my hiccups doesn't always happen] I mean honestly, this whole me explaining my writing woes could end up making no sense in the end. haha  Add in that I by no means am a grammar master, and you have why I tend to shy away from writing.

BUT WHO CARES?!

Someone is either going to read what I wrote or not, but certainly no one will read it if I never write it. Plus, I'll never get better if I don't work on it.  So here I am, with probably the largest amount of copy to date. It's not flooded with imagery either, it's just me and what I'm really dealing with. I'm going to continue to push myself on this blog to dig past just surface level. I'll still have all the things I have on the blog now, because I enjoy them, there will now just be more to read. ;D

11 Facts About Myself.

1. I'm 5'9" and have only dated one guy who was noticeably taller than me.
2. I'm allergic to cats--that hasn't stopped me though. ;)
3. I have close to 90 bottles of nail polish.
4. I could probably eat my weight in Raisinets.
5. I've never been able to touch my toes.
6. I love Corey Feldman and will watch any movie he is in--no matter how bad.
7. I hate talking about blood/veins. I will get super light-headed.
8. I dissected sheep brains when I was in elementary school.
9. I'm an only child.
10. Favorite thing to read are medical history books.
11. I've been using the same purse for 2 years.

11 Questions to Answer.

1. Which one do you prefer, coffee or tea and what kind?

I drink a lot of Arizona Green Tea--yum! 

2. What is your favorite quote from a movie?

3. Do you have painted finger and toe nails during winter? 

I paint my fingers during the winter, but I don't usually ever paint my toes. I don't really like my feet so I own I think one pair of open toe shoes.

4. Do you have a favorite book, one you could read over and over again? 

Falling in line with medical history books, I really enjoy the book Death's Acre

It's all about the Body Farm--which I think is so interesting.

5. What's your favorite song of all times? 

I don't know if I have a "FAVORITE OF ALL TIME" but I will probably always love these songs.  [cue my inner  80's goth]

6. Do you believe in destiny?

I do when things don't go as planned because it's easier to get over things when you think, "it just wasn't meant to be".

7. Are you a cat or a dog person? Or maybe both? And why?

I think it's pretty obvious I'm a cat person, although I was never over the moon about them until I got Stinker and Creeper.  I like dogs just fine though, I've had more dogs as pets than cats within my lifetime.

8. Which celebrity do you secretly have a crush on?  Walton Goggins

 

I kinda love his character's accent and wardrobe on the TV show "Justified".

When trying to find a picture of him I found out he grew up in Lithia Springs, GA which is a stones throw from where I grew up. As in rival football team close. So that means he's not having to dig very deep to find that twang. haha

9. Are you a glass half empty or half full kind of person?

Depends on how well I'm doing in any certain situation. ;)

10. Where do you see yourself in 5 years from now?

Done with school...have a big girl job....maybe still blogging! Right now it's really just one day at a time for me. School is intense and if I look too far forward I'm likely to just crawl into the fetal position.

11. Do you have a blogger idol and if so, who is it and why?

I think Amy from A is for Ampersand is pretty dang awesome. She just seems genuinely  sweet and her blog posts are always really interesting.

Getting To Know Me

2. How big is your bed? I have a twin daybed, so if I fold it out, it turns into a queen.
3. What are you listening to right now? I'm in a 90's room on Turntable.fm --anyone else use this site? I've been using it instead of Pandora lately.
4. What are the last 4 digits in your cellphone number? That's not going to be very useful to you. heh
5. What was the last thing you ate? Cinnamon apple sauce...very fast, because I was running late. I'm ready for lunch!
6. Last person you hugged? Creeper-- before I left for school. Mainly because he whines when I don't pay attention to him while I get ready.
7. How is the weather right now?  Party cloudy, 88ºF  Not that I would know since I'm stuck inside for another 5 hours. :(
8. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone? Matt--I woke him up. oops
9. What is the first thing you notice in the opposite sex? Teeth
10. Favorite type of food. I'm not sure if I would say I had a favorite. I just like food in general!
11. Do you want children? Someday...maybe, who knows. Not in the game plan right this moment. ;)
12. Do you drink? Very rarely.
13. Ever get so drunk you don’t remember the entire night? Once. It was horrible and I never want to feel like that again. 
14. Hair color? Auburn 
15. Eye colour? Standard brown
16. Do you wear contacts/glasses? I have both, but I wear contact 99% of the time. Mainly because I don't like the way my glasses look. I've been thinking about trying out Warby Parker.
17. Favorite holiday? Halloween! 
18. Favorite season? Fall or Spring...maybe more so Fall because my allergies are not as bad!
19. Have you ever cried over a girl/boy? Of course I have---it's never fun.
20. Last movie you watched? Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2
21. What books are you reading? Starting reading Running With Scissors the other night--thought I had already done so years ago. It's a quick read though, so I'm open to suggestions for future books!
22. Piercings? Just my ears. My mom actually had to sit on me to get the second hole pierced because I lost it after the first one went in. [I was 6 or so] :x

24. Favorite college football team? Sorry, N/A

26. Any pets? I think most of you know I'm halfway to crazy cat lady status.
27. Dogs or cats? Contrary to popular belief, I like both of them. ;)

30. Who would you like to see right now? Matt, because that means we could go get lunch! yay--food
31. Have you ever fired a gun? No, but I want to go to the gun range soon and learn how to properly handle/shoot a gun.
