Flashback Friday: 08/26/11 Undergrad Jumping

I had a period of time where all I wanted to do was take jumping pictures. I still love them, I just don't take them nearly as often...need to change that.

These photos makes me miss my dark hair though--maybe I'll do darker for Fall! :D

Flashback Friday: 7/29/11 High School

These pictures were uploaded to Facebook recently and I thought I might as well use them for a FF post!
I don't think any of the other people pictured in these images read my blog, but hopefully they won't kill me for posting these. heh :x

I would also just like to point out that these are all from disposable cameras because not many people had digital cameras back then.  Oh, and if you did they were the size of bricks and ran on like 6 AA batteries. [I should try to track down those photos of me using ours. heh]

Yes, at one point I had jet black hair and a stupid look on my face. Now I'm just stuck with the stupid looks on my face ;D

Not sure why I was being carried....

I wish I was that small still. awww ;D

Flashback Friday: 07/15/11 Harry Potter

Tons of people cried as the last Harry Potter movie came to a close for them last night. I was not one of them. I don't know if I've mentioned it yet, but last week, I started grad school! It's been great, but there have been some adjustments to my schedule that had to be made. Hopefully I can see the movie by this week.

So, for this FF here are photos from a past midnight showing where we were being goofballs before the previews. ;D

P.S. You have until this Sunday night to get your own Golden Snitch Locket for $18 + free shipping!

Flashback Friday: 07/08/11 Scanner Head

Wow, I haven't done a Flashback Friday in MONTHS. Well, I'm going to rectify that right now! These images were created back in 2008 when I was bored one day and decided to see what I could create by scanning my head. I'm not embarrassed, I think most of us have stuck our head in a scanner at least once before. ;)

I ended up really liking these 3 images--I think my hair looks really neat.

Does anyone else have some scanned faces they are proud of? heh

Flashback Friday: 04/22/11 Sylvia Paret: Brooklyn, NY

First: HAPPY EARTH DAY!

Second: This FF is going to be a little different. Today we have a mission--to reunite some old photo albums with their families.

My friend, Claire, was given six old photo albums recently, and is now hoping to find their owners [or their families], and give them back their long lost photographs.

Claire has decided to make videos of each album in hopes that by people viewing them someone, somewhere, will have information on how to reunite them with their rightful owners. The album she is highlighting in this video belonged to a Sylvia Paret [the only one with a name in it]--so please watch it and see if anything seems familiar!

Sylvia Paret

For more information on Claire's quest, and for more photos of the albums/Sylvia Paret, check out these two posts on Claire's blog:

If you have any information on Sylvia, or any of the other albums, please email Claire at lostalbums@gmail.com

Flashback Friday: 04/15/11 Chattanooga, TN Part 2

The other part of our Chattanooga adventure was spent at the Tennessee Aquarium.  I've been to this aquarium a few times as a child, a couple on school field trips. That was all before Atlanta built the Georgia Aquarium.  WHICH--they just opened the dolphin exhibit, so I'll have to go see them this summer. :D

I wish it had been warmer so we could have played in the water areas they have built outside at the Tennessee Aquarium, although, it was still nice to have the aquarium almost all to ourselves--I hate crowds in those kind of situations!

Flashback Friday: 04/08/11 Chattanooga, TN Part 1

These photos were taken in March of 2010. It was my last Spring break as a college undergrad and so Matt and I took a weekend trip up to Chattanooga, TN.  We decided to be complete tourists and hit all the tourist hot spots. We also went spelunking at Raccoon Mountain, which was a BIG DEAL for me because I'm claustrophobic. My anxiety was with me the entire time, but I pushed myself through it, and experienced some really awesome things. The only time my anxiety got the better of me was when the guide wanted to go through this tiny tiny tiiiiny hole they don't usually take larger groups through. [it was just Matt and I] I watched the guide go in, one arm straight out in front, one arm pinned to his side, and then it was my turn, I freaked. Even though the guide was much bigger than me, my brain was telling me I would get stuck and then die in that tiny hole. Luckily, there was another, slightly bigger, way around it and I continued with the rest of the trip. I have a few photos we took with a disposable camera and maybe I'll scan them soon, but you can click on the website above to see some photos. Of course there aren't any of the tiny belly squeezes we went through! We did the Echo Room Expedition if anyone is interested. :)

So after that fun, and super muddy, adventure we hit up Rock City, Ruby Falls, and the Lookout Mountain Incline Railway. [did I mention I'm afraid of heights too? eep] Like I said at the beginning, we took the tourist approach...so here are a lot of pictures of US at the attractions.;X

The world is not exploding behind him
Made it to the top alive!

Thanks for reading--hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! I'll be posting even MORE guest posts and giveaways through Sunday. :D
