Spaaaaace!

After reading Tanie's space shirt tutorial on her blog Cupcake Wishes and Unicorn Dreams, I knew I had to give it a go! If my bank was going to deny me having a space background on my debit card-- I was going to make up for it by space-ifying my clothes!

On Wednesday I got together with other space clothing enthusiasts and we went to town with bleach, dye, and wine! I think everyone's came out great. :D
*All pictures are courtesy of Jinah --except for the last 6 where I am wearing the shirts.

Materials!
I put a rubber band on one of my shirts

Was feeling a tad ghostly today.

Or maybe I just took a shaky iPhone picture while I was photographing a 2-day business bootcamp....as a ghost! o_O

Flashback Friday 2/25/11 Comic-Con Part 3

...and we are back on the road to Comic Con 2009. In the next installment we will actually have photos taken AT Comic Con--exciting, I know.  Until then--have some shots from good ol' Santa Fe, New Mexico!

If you missed the first two installements you can check them out here:

Most of these are taken from a moving vehicle because we had a deadline to make! I still really like the them, motion blur and all.

When I wasn't taking photos from the back seat I was usually sleeping in the back seat! Holly made it a habit to take a photo every time I went to sleep. I eventually trained myself to wake up when I heard her camera focusing. ;p

We stuck around long enough to visit some friends, check out some stores + galleries, and get Holly a cowboy hat!

I don't like my smile, so I usually end up looking completely disinterested most of the time. :\

My Pet Monster

Matt and I watched Troll Hunter* last week and it made me think about My Pet Monster... except in my head I morphed them with Pillow People and had a hard time finding what I was actually looking for at first. haha

I never had a My Pet Monster, I think one of my cousins did, but I remember not really caring for it. I don't think I knew it was supposed to be a friendly character, but come on, does this guy look friendly to you?!

It looks like he was re-designed in 2001 to be given a grin and a nose job--which I can understand why.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I had any Pillow People either. Apparently I'm reliving my cousin's childhood memories! :x  The ones I remember the most are these three characters:

Pillow Fighter (Source)

Did any of you have either of these two toys? Still have them?

*This isn't as scary as the trailer plays it out to be. I really enjoyed it though and the trolls are pretty great. I recommend it. :D

Flashback Friday 2/18/11

More Comic-Con 2009 pictures will come another day. I spent the last 2 days working 12 hour days on the set of MTV's Teen Wolf and didn't get around to editing any more of them. :)

I love making little stop motion animations and thought I would share one from 2008. [that's my old apartment in the background] How my face wiggles cracks me up. hahaha
I used to make these all the time, now I make them pretty sporadically. Maybe I'll post more of the older ones later?

Wanted Wednesday 02/16/11

Source: Unknown
Matt and I were talking about how we both want a good, strong thunderstorm to happen. Maybe the warmer weather will bring us one!

Zip-line tours look like so much fun. Of course I'm pretty afraid of heights, but I still want to try it out. There are some places in Georgia that have courses that I want to look into.

I have been craving Pecan Pie like nobody's business lately!

I would love to have a floor to ceiling library in my home one day. Speaking of books--got any recommendations? :)

If this wasn't $18.00 it would already be mine.

Valentine Weekend

This weekend was spent filled with food, adventures, and quality time with my boyfriend! Since Matt and I's anniversary falls on the 13th we decided to celebrate Valentine's Day on Sunday along with it and then stay in Monday evening.

On Saturday we decided to try a new restaurant for lunch. It wasn't very good...but I'm hopefully the next place we pick will make up for it. After lunch we decided to do a bit of GeoCaching before the sun went down. If you've never heard of this it's where people hide caches [they are everywhere--all around the world!] and then give you coordinates on how to find it through a GPS device. Tiny treasure hunts! Some are just logs but the bigger caches allow you to take and leave small goodies. It's a great way to see parts of your city you would never have a reason to go to otherwise, plus I love having to be all stealthy so that the Muggles don't catch you! [that's what non-Geocachers are called]

Matt and I have already found parks we never new existed and learned some interesting history about our city. I really like the idea that I can do this while I'm traveling as well. It's a great activity if you have small children too because there are several caches created with them in mind. I highly recommend you all to check out GeoCaching if you enjoy getting outside and exploring. :D

Haha, it became cold fast when the sun went down

On Sunday we got up and did...MORE GEOCACHING!  Seriously, I'm addicted. Once we worked up an appetite we had some dinner at The Real Chow Baby.

Matt took a tiny green Sharpie from this cache.
I really liked my nails but didn't get a better picture. :\

Monday morning we woke up bright and early to go get some doughnuts at Sublime Doughnuts. Since it was Valentin's Day they were giving all the ladies a rose with their order and most of the doughnuts were heart shaped. awww

Later that day the mail came and I had two lovely Valentine cards--one from Olivia and Jenny at Lovely At Your Side and one from Danielle at Fancy Biscuit! The card at the bottom is from Matt that he handmade just for me. [based on a pet name I have. heh]

So all in all I had a fantastic Valentine's weekend!  Hope everyone had a great time as well--whether you celebrated the holiday or not. :)
