Bring back Spring! pt2

Sunday ended up being just as nice as Saturday! I took an unexpected trip to my Aunt's house and took a quite a few photos with my phone since I didn't have my camera on me. Luckily, I have several photo apps on my phone. ;)

This is Bell--she's pretty awesome. [and has one ice-blue eye] Future pets I'd like: a Boston terrier, a Pug, and a Dachshund.

My aunt and her husband also have two donkeys and a horse [it might be a mule though]. The two donkeys are very pregnant, you can tell a bit in the bottom photo.

Told you it was nice weather--short sleeves and no jacket! You also get a hint of one of my new necklaces I've made. :)

This image was actually taken at my mother's house.  This face has been on this tree for several years but within the past year the nose has fallen off making it even creepier than it already was. The nose just lays at the base of the tree now.

Then of course today was cold and rainy. :(

Bring back Spring!

I am so ready for Spring to be here! Today we got a little teaser of the warmer side of life. It was a perfect 65 degrees so Matt and I walked to lunch and then walked over to the yogurt shop I mentioned in an earlier post for dessert. It looked like every one in town had the same idea because the line was out the door and when we finally got to the yogurt the While Chocolate Raspberry was all gone! I ended up getting Blackberry and Dark Chocolate and loaded up on the fruit toppings, so it wasn't a failed mission. Plus now I just have a reason to go back again soon before they switch out the flavors. ;D

I also painted my nails this weekend and liked them enough to snap a photo of them. Now that I am back in my house I have full access to my army of nail polishes--so I would expect other nail documentation photos in the future. ;)

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Flashback Friday 1/28/11

Meet Ruthie, one of my mom's chihuahuas. Her other chihuahua is Stella, but she's a prima donna, and doesn't like to have her photo taken often. Ruthie on the other hand loooooves any and all attention and is quite the ham in front of the camera! These photos were taken back in April of 2007 and show off Ruthie's personality.

Wanted Wednesday 01/26/11

(Source)
A card catalog cabinet. I've wanted one for years but currently I have nowhere to put one. One day I will have a home with a dedicated craft room and that will change. :)

(Source)
I really like how moonstones look. Pair that with a big chunky ring and I'm sold!

(Source)
Speaking of big rings I have been trying to find the perfect armor ring. Between finding one that is my size, doesn't have a scary eyeball poking bit at the end, and doesn't look like straight up Renaissance Festival is proving harder than anticipated.
I've been craving some self-serve frozen yogurt with unlimited toppings. mmmmm It might have something to do with the local frozen yogurt shop announcing their flavors earlier this week.
White Chocolate Raspberry, Dark Chocolate, Blackberry, Strawberry, Original, and Black Cherry--yes, please!

(Source)
Sonny Angels! I received the panda in my mystery box and maybe one day I'll get the bunny. There are other sets like fruits and vegetables...all of them being ridiculously cute.

Gus gets a fancy cone

Gus had his cone of shame decorated tonight! Unfortunately he had just taken his drowsy pain medicine so the photo shoot didn't last long.  Which is probably for the best because he can't do much with the giant cone except lounge around.

Welcome Home + Colonel Augustus Darwin Fink-Nottle

I'm back! I'm back! For the past several months the house I rent a space in has been undergoing some pretty drastic renovations. Tearing up floors, stripping years of paint, ripping down horrible popcorn ceilings, laying lots of new tile, and lots and lots of painting! With all that work came a truckload of dust and nasty fumes--so my sinuses said "GET OUT--GET OUT NOW!"...and I did. [<3 <3 for a great boyfriend that took me in]

But I'm back and I'm trying to get my room into some kind of working order. I just tonight plugged in my computer and I've been home for 3 days now. :X I'm happy to have all my stuff all in one location again. I felt like I had been living out of a suitcase...that apparently mated while I was gone because I brought a lot more stuff back in than I remember bringing out!

Which leads me to a new fur monster that might be making more appearances now that I'm home.  My housemates have a poodle named Gus [or Colonel Augustus Darwin Fink-Nottle if you're long-winded] and unfortunately for him his first public photo on my blog is him in his CONE OF SHAME!

Promise there's a dog in there!
Poor little Gus was hit by a car on Wednesday and broke one of his hind-legs. :( He had surgery on Friday so they could put a pin in his leg and now he gets to sport the cone so he won't bother the stitches.  Gus is a pretty fancy dog so there have been rumors of his cone getting a decorative face-lift- I'll post pictures if that happens.

Alright--back to organizing!

Minature Food

Does anyone remember when the Micheal's Arts and Crafts stores had an aisle for dollhouses? As a child that was my favorite aisle because I loved looking into all the cut-away houses and was fascinated by all the miniature items you could buy to furnish them. I think the miniature food items were the most interesting to me and I still love looking at them!

So cute! I love the realistic texture on the cake.  (Source)

Mmmm, lox sandwich! (Source)
Look at the detail! Plus these are actually earrings :D (Source)
Fried chicken and fries...can you tell I'm hungry?  (Source)
The detail is insane. Also, this one is a necklace! (Source)
I have been craving a caramel apple since the Fall and never did get one. :\  (Source)
I have a sweet tooth. (Source)

If you want to do the meme, just record yourself saying the following:

Your name
Where are you from
The following words: Aunt, Roof, Route, Wash, Oil, Theater, Iron, Salmon, Caramel, Fire, Water, Sure, Data, Ruin, Crayon, Toilet, New Orleans, Pecan, Both, Again, Probably, Spitting Image, Alabama, Lawyer, Coupon, Mayonnaise, Syrup, Pajamas, Caught, Orange, Coffee, Direction, Naturally, Aluminum and Herbs
What is it called when you throw toilet paper on a house?
What is the bubbly carbonated drink called?
What do you call gym shoes?
What do you say to address a group of people?
What do you call the kind of spider that has an oval-shaped body and extremely long legs?
What do you call your grandparents?
What do you call the wheeled contraption in which you carry groceries at the supermarket?
What do you call it when rain falls while the sun is shining?
What is the thing you change the TV channel with?

Read this passage from The Speech Accent Archive:

Please call Stella. Ask her to bring these things with her from the store: Six spoons of fresh snow peas, five thick slabs of blue cheese, and maybe a snack for her brother Bob. We also need a small plastic snake and a big toy frog for the kids. She can scoop these things into three red bags, and we will go meet her Wednesday at the train station

Flashback Friday

Welcome to the first installment of FLASHBACK FRIDAY!

I got this lovely idea from my friend Xenia and I'm really excited to start making posts under it. Any picture(s) from before I re-started this blog are fair game! From birth until a couple of months ago? That's plenty of material to work with. ;D

Taken back in September 2010.  Family portrait shoot.  I love love love this shot! She's a diva [a really really cute one] and needs an agent now. ;D

Snowcation in Hothlanta 2011! Part 2

We are rounding out day 3 of our snowcation. A lot of places will still be closed tomorrow as well because most of the snow has actually now turned to ice and driving is still quite dangerous. Matt and I have been trying to get out and walk around so we don't get infected with EXTREME cabin fever and start climbing the walls. However, that hasn't led to too many photos because the wind chill is SO cold our fingers refuse to operate cameras. :\

After the initial snow fall Sunday night a good half inch of ice covered all the nice powder.

Ice covered the fresh snow. Which made making a snowman pretty impossible. :(

I was COLD! I didn't wear thick socks and my toes were not happy....not happy at all.

Brrr--just looking at these images makes me cold! :P
